On Oct. 20, Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray co-sponsored a heroin recovery and resource referral program at Nassau University Medical Center.

Last week the public benefit corporation that runs Nassau University Medical Center announced support for Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray for DA -- despite its tax-exempt status.

The news release was quickly withdrawn.

But on Oct. 20 Murray and NUMC were co-sponsors of a heroin recovery event for which the publicly supported hospital sent out mailings to residents.
