Nassau CE has lobbying help in Albany
A reader writes to note that Nassau CE Edward Mangano has created an electronic petition where county residents can demand that state legislators approve his bills on reforming property tax assessments.
The reader asked: doesn’t the county pay big bucks to professional lobbyists to influence state legislators?
It does have professional lobbyists, a Mangano spokesman said. Brian Meara of Meara, Avella and Dickinson (contract for $24,000) and Bob Bishop (contracts for $45,000 and $15,000.)
