Nassau Republican county candidates are not letting Democrats get all the attention in Tuesday’s primary elections.

Republican county executive candidate Jack Martins emailed invitations to a “General Election Kickoff Party” Tuesday night at his campaign headquarters in Franklin Square as Nassau Legis. Laura Curran of Baldwin and County Comptroller George Maragos squared off in a Democratic primary for the county executive nomination.

“Join Jack and his team as we find out who they will be running against and hear Jack’s plans for Nassau’s future,” the invitation reads.

Republican County Comptroller candidate Steve Labriola also made a bid for attention, emailing a media advisory about a speech he plans after the polls close on the primary fight between Democratics Jack Schnirman and Ama Yawson for their party’s county comptroller nomination.

“Labriola to address crowd,” the advisory reads. “Nassau County Executive Candidate Jack Martins and Nassau County Comptroller Candidate Steve Labriola will address volunteers and speak with the media at the Franklin Square campaign headquarters after the close of polls at 9 pm.”
