Nassau lawyer eyes 4th C.D.: Updated
Attorney Thomas Liotti, who's had some high-profile clients over the years, says he's due to be interviewed by the Nassau County Republicans on Wednesday. Liotti, who's been unaffiliated with a party since 2008 but was a Republican before that, expressed interest in the nomination against Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, the Democrat who represents the 4th C.D.
"If he obtains G.O.P. support, he expects to declare his candidacy, seek support from other political parties and resign from his Village Justice position," says a statement from Liotti's office.
He's been a Westbury Village justice since 1991 and ran in 1977 for North Hempstead supervisor as a Democrat/Independent.

Recently Liotti was in the news as criminal lawyer for ex-Democratic Legis. Roger Corbin.
Update: Said Tony Santino, spokesman for the Nassau GOP: ""There is significant interest among Republicans in challenging Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy. He is just one of a group that is being interviewed."
