New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez to speak at state GOP dinner
New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez — whom some are touting as a vice presidential candidate — will be the keynote speaker at this year’s New York State Republican Committee dinner.
The event on April 14 is just five days before New York’s presidential primary, a contest that could prove influential in this year’s chase for the nomination. State GOP chairman Ed Cox announced Martinez’ address Monday. It will be in the Grand Hyatt New York in Manhattan.
Martinez is in her second term as governor of New Mexico, where she became the state’s first female chief executive. Also, she is the first Hispanic female elected governor in the United States.
