NY court dismisses claims in boat tragedy
New York’s top court on Thursday dismissed damages claims filed against state inspectors in the aftermath of a tragic tour boat accident in the Adirondack Park that killed 20 people on a leaf-peeping tour in 2005.
The Court of Appeals, in a 6-0 decision, said state inspectors couldn’t be held liable even though they certified the Ethan Allen, a Lake George tour boat.
