O'Donohoe to seek nods for Suffolk exec
Before Suffolk Executive Steve Levy pulled the plug on his re-election campaign, former Suffolk Legis. Michael O'Donohoe was about to announce he'd oppose him in a Conservative primary.
"I guess word started to get out -- that's why Levy stepped aside," joked O'Donohoe, commissioner of jurors and registered Conservative. His run could have sapped resources for Levy, now a Republican. He'd have cited Levy's history as a Democrat backing President Barack Obama.
Now O'Donohoe of Northport says he will ask Huntington Conservative chairman Frank Tinari to put his name forward for screening before the GOP and Conservative Parties for county executive.
O'Donohoe criticized Levy's fiscal management, saying Levy would leave Suffolk in a fiscal hole. -- Rick Brand
