BACKGROUND: Grossblatt, 52, of Syosset, is running on the Green Party line in the primary and is on the Democratic, Working Family and Women’s Equality party lines in the general election. She is a solo practitioner of the Law Office of Dana Grossblatt, specializing in criminal litigation since 2002. Grossblatt was an associate at James P. Nunemaker Jr. and Associates from 1997 to 2002. She served as a senior trial assistant district attorney for Kings County district attorney’s office from 1995 to 1997 and was an assistant district attorney for Kings County district attorney’s office from 1992 to 1995. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1987 and received her law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1991. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1992. She is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and was on its Judiciary Committee from 2015 to 2017. She is a member of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association. She is a member of Nassau County Criminal Courts Bar Association and served as president from 2014 to 2015 and served as a board member from 2003 to 2015. She is a founding member of the Nassau County Criminal Courts Bar Foundation, a charitable organization, and served as its president from 2013 to 2014.
