Rep. Timothy Bishop, in the midst of a tough re-election fight, is bringing in former President Bill Clinton to headline a campaign fundraiser.

Bishop’s campaign says Clinton will appear at a fundraising reception next Thursday at entertainment mogul Robert Sillerman’s Manhattan home. Sillerman is the former chancellor at Southampton College, where Bishop served as provost.

Bishop, a Democrat, is seeking his fifth term.

Several Republicans are competing in the primary to challenge him. They include Richard Nixon’s grandson, Christopher Cox, and businessman Randy Altschuler. .

Attendees are being asked to donate between $1,000 and $2,400 per person.

But the campaign is also holding a raffle. A donor giving as little as $25 can win a chance to attend and meet the former president.
