Physicians were trying Thursday to identify and combat an infection suffered by food TV star Sandra Lee, who remained hospitalized, a spokeswoman said.
Lee, the longtime girlfriend of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, was rushed to Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan Tuesday night in pain and suffering from a fluid buildup thought to be related to her double mastectomy surgery May 19.
The spokeswoman told Newsday that Lee is doing her best to keep up her spirits and is very appreciative of and touched by the outpouring of support from well-wishers.

Labor Day weekend travel forecast NewsdayTV's Ken Buffa spoke with Robert Sinclair Jr., senior manager of public affairs for AAA Northeast, about some of the best and worst times to travel during the holiday weekend.
