BACKGROUND:
- Bennett, 55, of Sea Cliff, is running on the Democratic, Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.
- Bennett has served as a Family Court judge in Nassau County from 2007-2011 and 2017 to the present. She is an acting Supreme Court justice presiding over matrimonial cases in the Nassau County Supreme Court, Matrimonial Center since she was initially appointed in 2011.
- She serves on the New York State Family Court Advisory and Rules Committee since her appointment in 2007 by the New York State chief administrative judge.
- From 2000 to 2006, Bennett was an attorney specializing in matrimonial and family law at Jaspan Schlesinger Hoffman, LLP in Garden City and a partner in 2005.
- Bennett graduated from Boston University in 1989 and earned her law degree from Ohio Northern University in 1992.
- She was admitted to the Connecticut bar in 1992, New York State Bar in 1993 and the United States Eastern and Southern District courts in 1994.
