Rep. Steve Israel, who has long touted his use of social media and the Internet, won a "platinum mouse" award for the best House of Representatives website for 2009. It was announced last week - as Israel's office launched a new version of the website, which an aide called an improvement. The nonpartisan Congressional Management Foundation ranked the Huntington Democrat's site first among 439 in the House as rated by experts. "Congressman Israel's website shows that he understands how to meet the needs of his various audiences," said foundation executive director Beverly Bell.
