DEMOCRAT
BACKGROUND:
- Stern, 54, of Dix Hills, is seeking his third term in the state Assembly.
- He is an attorney with a concentration in elder law and estate planning and is a former six-term Suffolk County legislator.
- He graduated from Tulane University and received his law degree from Western Michigan - TMC University, cum laude.
ISSUES:
- Stern said he will focus on the impact of taxes and inflation at the pump, supermarket and local small business. He said he will continue to push through legislation that cuts tax rates for local small businesses.
- Stern said he will prioritize public safety and school security. He said he strongly opposed bail reform and helped pass “common sense” legislation to keep guns out of the wrong hands. He said he secured over $1 million for our local law enforcement.
- Stern said he will build on his record of working to protect the quality of drinking water and expand vital sewer infrastructure.
- Stern will work hard against those who want to ban all abortions, including in cases of rape, incest and to save the life of the mother.
