Democrats are already taking potshots at Republican legislative contender Steve Tricarico in the key 6th district battleground, claiming he is trying to hide from his campaign website biography that he once worked for the not-so-popular Long Island Power Authority.

His website mentions Tricarico's current job as Brookhaven deputy highway superintendent, but states only vaguely that earlier "Steve worked in the public energy sector" without specifying his connection to LIPA.

"If he can't be truthful on his resume how can we expect him to be truthful as a county legislator?" said Richard Schaffer, Suffolk Democratic chairman.

Tricarico said there was no attempt to hide his background, and that starting negative attacks so early is just an attempt "to distract the public from the poor representation they have been getting" from Democratic Legis. Sarah Anker.

"They see the writing on the wall that we are going to win back the sixth district and restore fiscal stability," Tricarico said.
