Suffolk 6th LD: No sure sign of negative coattails

In that 6th LD special election in Suffolk, it looks like the Republicans lost the seat formerly held by Assemb. Dan Losquadro. Was it fallout from the events surrounding County Executive Steve Levy? No hard evidence, but it was a close race.
Meantime GOP candidate Martin Haley's effort was supported in part by $100,000 transferred from Levy's campaign fund to a Suffolk GOP fund two weeks before last Thursday's announcement that the county's popular D-turned-R was giving up the warchest to the DA and would not run again in November.
