Suffolk County Community College's new food service, Aramark, was one of the college's biggest contributors at the college foundation's Salute to Excellence gala held in May.

Aramark was listed on the college website as a "gold" sponsor for the event held at the Huntington Hilton, contributing $10,000.

The college trustees in February approved a five-year contract with Aramark with a five-year renewal option, which will for the first time impose a $200 a year mandatory food service plan at the Brentwood and Selden campuses for 12,000 students, bringing in $2.4 million.
