BACKGROUND: Cabana, 55, of Garden City, is running on the Democratic, Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.
- Cabana has been an attorney in private practice in Garden City, specializing in immigration and family law since 2002.
- In March 2022, she was appointed by Gov. Kathy Hochul to the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority for a term ending in December 2022.
- From 2018 through 2019, Cabana served as Hempstead Town clerk.
- She received her bachelor’s degree in political science and Spanish at Barnard College, Columbia University in 1989, and earned her law degree at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 1992.
- Cabana was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1996.
- She is a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, Long Island Hispanic Bar Association and the Association of Deportation Defense Attorneys.
