BACKGROUND:
- Condon, 65, of Aquebogue, is a registered Conservative seeking the Democratic nomination to run for Town Justice in the general election.
- He served as a Suffolk state Supreme Court justice from 2009 to 2022 and maintains a private practice specializing in arbitration and mediation.
- Condon says he’s running because he enjoys public service and wants to lend his experience to the court. “We deal with the police and the citizens of Riverhead to make it a better community and to address local civil issues,” he said. “You can have an impact.”
- From 2006 to 2009, Condon was a partner in the firm of Maffei and Condon. Prior, he had been bureau chief of the Suffolk County Trial Team for State Farm Insurance since 1993.
- He began his career as an assistant district attorney in 1986, after earning an undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany in 1981 and his law degree from Hofstra University in 1985.
- Condon was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1986.
