Trump campaign to hold fundraiser in Southampton on Aug. 8

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump is slated to hold a campaign fundraiser in Southampton on Aug. 8, according to a Trump 2020 fundraising appeal.

In a fundraising email sent to supporters on Saturday morning, the Trump 2020 campaign asks supporters to donate money for the chance to meet with Trump in Southampton.

The email, signed by Trump, promises he will “even set aside some time during dinner for us to take a photo together,” and states “This could be the trip of a lifetime.”

The White House and Trump campaign did not immediately provide information on the president's plans to visit Long Island.

However, a source familiar with the planning of the event said entry is $50,000 per person or $100,000 for the opportunity to attend a roundtable discussion and meet-and-greet session with the president. 

The fundraiser comes as former Vice President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, has outraised Trump for two months in a row according to campaign finance data provided by each of the campaigns.

Trump's reelection campaign and the Republican National Committee raised $266 million between April and June, including $74 million in May and $131 million in June, according to the Trump campaign.

Biden's campaign and the Democratic National Committee raised $282 million during the same three-month period, including $80.8 million in May and $141 million in June, according to the Biden campaign.

As of June 30, the most recent data available on the Federal Elections Commission, indicates the Trump campaign has $113 million in cash on hand, while the Biden campaign has $109 million in cash on hand.
