ALBANY — Days before the New York primary, Republican presidential race front-runner Donald Trump will be the featured guest at the state Republican Committee’s gala in Manhattan, said state GOP chairman Ed Cox.
The event will be at the Grand Hyatt on April 14 — five days before New York’s presidential primary.
Cox said the two other Republican presidential candidates, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, have also been invited to the gala, but they are not announced as attending. Attendance to the gala is through tickets purchased through the Republican committee.
“We are thrilled to welcome Republican presidential candidate and fellow New Yorker Donald Trump to our event,” Cox said Wednesday. “New York Republicans are more motivated than ever to take back the White House, and for the first time in a long time, will play a decisive role by their votes in the April 19 presidential primary. The excitement is palpable.”
