Birnbaum, 64, of Great Neck, is running on the Democratic, Working Families and Independence Party lines. She is running for her fourth two-year term.

ISSUES:

• Birnbaum touted her yearslong advocacy for reopening the Nassau police Sixth Precinct in Manhasset. It reopened in April and is currently being renovated.
• She said she will continue working with residents to improve traffic safety, including through traffic safety analyses and public meetings.
• Birnbaum said she will work to ensure there is enough money in the county budget to complete restoration of the Saddle Rock Grist Mill and to reopen the centuries-old site as a county museum.
