DEMOCRATIC
Abrahams, 45, of Freeport, is running on the Democratic and Working Families party lines. Abrahams won a special election to the Nassau County Legislature in 2002 and is seeking his ninth two-year term.
ISSUES:
- Abrahams said improving the county’s infrastructure is a priority and that during his current term, major roads were resurfaced in his district.
- He said he supported the creation of the county’s first independent inspector general office to oversee contracts so that “tax dollars are spent without waste, fraud and abuse.”
- He said he will seek to have all Nassau County homes “correctly assessed” so that “everyone pays their fair share of property taxes.”
