BACKGROUND:
- Fleming, 61, of Noyac, has served in the Suffolk County Legislature since 2015. She is also running on the Working Families Party line.
- She previously served on the Southampton Town Board for five years and spent nearly a decade as an assistant district attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
- She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Hunter College in 1987 and from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1991.
ISSUES:
- Fleming said her priorities will continue to be "keeping the members of our community safe and keeping the economy afloat."
- She's also a strong advocate of measures to stem climate change and is focusing on plans that address flooding and coastal resiliency while insuring the continued availability of clean water.
- Her economic priorities include a focus on infrastructure projects, public safety, transportation and housing.
