BACKGROUND:
- Aman, 82, of East Hampton, is a retired educator with more than 40 years of experience. He served as the president of the East Hampton School District Board of Education. He is also running on the Conservative Party line.
- He is a former superintendent of the Amagansett School District for 10 years. He was also an assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in Riverhead and in Longwood.
- Aman received his bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College and earned his master’s and doctorate from Syracuse University.
ISSUES:
- Aman said he wants to push along a proposal for a brand new senior center, which he said has not seen progress in close to eight years.
- He said he wants to see more affordable housing in the area to attract more young professionals.
- Aman said he’d like to see the East Hampton Airport remain open, but with more regulations. He said he’d look into limiting some helicopter and airplane flights to decrease the noise.
