Marsha F. Silverman, Council Member, City of Glen Cove
MARSHA F. SILVERMAN
Democratic
BACKGROUND:
- Silverman, 50, who has served on the city council since 2018, is also running on the Working Families Party line.
- Silverman works in financial data analytics and received her undergraduate degree in economics from Haverford College and a masters in business administration from New York University Stern School of Business.
ISSUES:
- Silverman said the most important issue is that the city make long-term financial plans for its operating and capital spending to "make sure that we're not making shortsighted decisions and doing a longer-term look of what this city needs," including infrastructure to support continued growth.
-
Silverman said tax breaks should not be given to residential property developers and said incentives should only be used to help companies that create jobs and stimulate the local economy.
-
She said the city should look to partnerships to help build public facilities like pools or a skate park.
