  • D’Esposito, 39, of Island Park, is running on the Republican, Conservative and Tax Revolt party lines.
  • He is running for his second four-year term as Hempstead Town councilman, a position he has held since 2016.
  • Before joining the board, D’Esposito worked as a detective with the New York Police Department and as the chief of the Island Park Volunteer Fire Department.

ISSUES:

  • D'Esposito said he wants to maintain and expand town services provided for the past six years while holding the line or lowering taxes.
  • He said he wants to make his office open and accessible for residents, including outreach on social media, to address resident concerns and issues, such as public safety and holding NARCAN training to treat opioid abuse.
  • D'Esposito said he wants to continue working with the town's medical director for guidance, administering vaccines, supporting hospitals and keeping communities safe.
