Duties: The county's chief law enforcement officer manages 448 full-time staff, 11 part-time staff, including 214 full-time (plus 5 part-time) assistant district attorneys and 14 full-time law assistants who investigate and prosecute crime. The district attorney also pursues grand jury probes and works with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies on investigations. The office has a budget of $48.6 million.
