DAVID A. ADHAMI

Republican

BACKGROUND:

  • Adhami, 37, of Great Neck, is an attorney in private practice in Great Neck, specializing in civil litigation and criminal defense. He’s also running on the Conservative Party line.
  • He unsuccessfully ran for Nassau county legislator in the 10th District in 2017.
  • He earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Stony Brook University and a juris doctor law degree from Touro Law School.

ISSUES:

  • Adhami said he will focus on making the town’s building department more responsive. "I would move to help increase the quality of control there and essentially [improve] customer service for the residents," he said.
  • He wants equal treatment for town residents regardless of whether they live in Great Neck or New Hyde Park. "You can't have favorites in certain areas," he said. He also wants to see code enforcement evenly and properly enforced.
  • He said he will work to improve existing services by making appointment-scheduling easier and having staff clearly communicate to the public town procedures and any changes in policies or rules.
