BACKGROUND:
- Lamarre, 45, of West Hempstead, is also running on the Conservative Party line.
- He is the owner and president of County Cleaners Corp., a commercial cleaning company.
- Lamarre has volunteered with All the Way 100 Percent, a nonprofit organization, which provides community assistance to individuals in need.
ISSUES:
- Lamarre said he wants to hold the line on taxes and supports the town board's proposal for tax cuts. He said he wants to dedicate a greater portion of budget funding for services in the first district, including Hempstead, Uniondale and Roosevelt.
- Lamarre said he wants to focus on allocating funds to improve roads and parks in the district.
- He said he wants to dedicate federal COVID-19 funding for small businesses after seeing the difficulties of running a business during the pandemic. Lamarre also wants to increase more COVID-19 testing and vaccines to hard-hit communities in the district.
