BACKGROUND:
- Srivastava, 47, of Manhasset Hills, owns a yogurt cafe in Merrick. She is also running on the Conservative Party line.
- Srivastava and her husband immigrated to New York from India in 2001, first residing in Queens, and in 2013 moved to Manhasset Hills. Srivastava ran unsuccessfully for the New York State Assembly last year and for the North Hempstead Town Council in 2019. Srivastava has a bachelor’s degree in science from a university in India.
- Srivastava has volunteered to aid domestic abuse survivors and for women’s advocacy groups and has held yoga and mindfulness community events. She previously served on the Nassau County Comptroller’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Council.
ISSUES:
- Srivastava said she will prioritize providing town services in a "safe and effective manner" and making operations more efficient and cost-effective.
- She said she will establish a Town Clerk’s Office mobile unit and extend office hours to make services more accessible to residents.
- Srivastava said, "Public service is all about the love and commitment you have for the community." She said she believes in "standing up for what’s right and helping our Nassau County taxpayers."
