BACKGROUND:
- Debra S. Mulé, 59, of Freeport also is running on the Common Sense line. She is seeking her third term on the Nassau County Legislature.
- Mulé received a bachelor’s degree in music from the College of William and Mary and a master’s degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University.
- She previously served on the Freeport Village Board of Trustees and on the Freeport school board.
ISSUES:
- Mulé is focused on infrastructure investments in her district, including $8 million for improvements to Baldwin’s Grand Avenue Complete Streets project and $3 million for Silver Lake Park and address flooding.
- She has been a vocal supporter of the Bay Park Conveyance Project, which is expected to reduce nitrogen levels and the severe pollution that has plagued Reynolds Channel.
- Mulé has worked with the administration throughout the pandemic to help get residents vaccinated and connect constituents with relief resources.
