On one hand, the odds of winning a Powerball jackpot is 1 in 292.2 million. On the other, it’s $2 a ticket, and that’s a pretty inexpensive price for a dream.

So expect bigger lines than usual as customers line up to buy tickets for Wednesday’s $400 million Powerball grand prize, or a lump sum payout worth $244.8 million.

That jackpot could grow based on increased ticket sales.

It marks the sixth biggest payoff in the history of the multistate game, surpassing the $399.4 million Powerball jackpot in September 2013.

Overall, the jackpot is the ninth largest in U.S. lottery history; the biggest prize is the $656 million Mega Millions jackpot in March 2012.

Powerball is offered in 44 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
