A Manhattan-based sausage maker is recalling 44,035 pounds of raw sausage products due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said Friday.

The products produced by Pork King Sausage, Inc. could contain milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the label, the USDA said.

The raw link sausage was produced earlier this year on various dates from Feb. 16 through June 2. The recalled products include 10-pound boxes of Peter’s Wholesale Meat Corp. “British Style Bangers” and 5-pound boxes of Pork King “Irish Style Bangers,” the agency said.

The USDA classified the recall as a “health hazard situation” and said consuming the product could cause “serious, adverse health consequences.”

No illnesses have been reported and confirmed as a result of the recalled product so far, according to the agency, which recommended discarding it or returning it to the place of purchase.
