Two boys on a green scooter struck a pedestrian in Cedarhurst in September, then left him behind with a serious leg injury, Nassau police said, in asking for help to find the suspects.

The victim had just stepped out of the Wok Tov restaurant on Central Avenue and onto the sidewalk when the electric motorized scooter hit him at about 5:30 p.m. Sept. 14, police said.

Both boys on the scooter fell off, but they were able to walk away with their scooter without identifying themselves, police said. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, police said.

Store video surveillance shows the scooter zipping along on the middle of the sidewalk, straight into the man. The victim told investigators that the driver appeared to be 15 to 17 years old and the passenger about 10 to 13 years old, police said. Both were wearing white shirts, black pants and yarmulkes on their heads, police said.

Fourth Precinct detectives ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
