A Seaford man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the Southern State Parkway Sunday night, New York State Police said.
Charles F. Kenney, 50, was eastbound in a black 2023 Dodge Ram pickup truck about 10:35 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, police said. The pickup left the road and struck the stone wall of the Newbridge Road overpass, east of Exit 25S in the Town of Hempstead, police said.
It came to rest blocking the center and right lanes of the parkway, police said. Kenney was not wearing a seat belt and was traveling at an unsafe speed at the time of the crash, police said.
Kenney was transported to the Nassau University Medical Center with serious physical injuries, where he was later pronounced, police said.
