Silver alert issued for missing Middle Island man canceled, cops say
Suffolk County police said Wednesday a silver alert for a missing Middle Island man has been canceled.
Charles Klinkenberg, 78, who was last seen leaving his Robin Drive home in a white 2013 Chevy Cruz about 6 p.m. Tuesday, has been found, police said.
The Silver Alert program is designed to inform local media, hospitals and law enforcement agencies when a senior or individual suffering from mental or cognitive disorders is missing.
