Evening train commuters can expect a chance of minimal delays of 10 to 15 minutes on various branches Thursday due to "slip slide" conditions, a Long Island Rail Road spokeswoman said.
That's when "train wheels slip while accelerating, or slide during braking -- from the oily residue left by crushed leaves on the rails," the LIRR said.
As of about 3:45 p.m. the Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and Babylon branches were experiencing such delays.
