Weather service issues small craft advisory for ocean waters west of Moriches Inlet

A small craft advisory is in effect Thursday night for ocean waters west of Moriches Inlet, the National Weather Service said.

East winds around 15 knots with gusts of up to 20 knots are expected from Fire Island Inlet to Moriches Inlet and 20 miles out and a stretch from Sandy Hook, New Jersey, to Fire Island Inlet and 20 miles out, the service's Upton office said.
