A Patchogue man was arrested Wednesday, charged with robbing a TD Bank branch Monday in Medford, police said.
Suffolk County police said Steven Alejandria, 35, was charged with third-degree robbery, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle. Police said that video surveillance footage from the crime scene, as well as resulting tips to Crime Stoppers, led Pattern Crime Unit detectives to identify and arrest Alejandria.
Police said that Alejandria, wearing a ski mask, sunglasses and a gray jacket, entered the bank branch on Route 112 in Medford at 9:58 a.m. Nov. 30, handing a demand note that “threatened violence” to a teller before receiving cash and fleeing on foot.
It was not immediately clear if police believe Alejandria may be involved in other robberies.
Alejandria faces arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Central Islip.
