Stony Brook: Two students die in Pennsylvania crash
Two Stony Brook students died in a car accident in Pennsylvania over the weekend, according to an e-mail the university president sent to students.
Pennsylvania State Police said a car drove into the back of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 80 in central Pennsylvania, killing the driver and a passenger.
Police in Columbia County said the car was heading west on I-80 in Mifflin Township when it hit the rear of the tractor-trailer at 12:23 a.m. Saturday.
They said 21-year-old Sean Finnegan of Lynbrook and his 18-year-old passenger, Paul Richards of Santa Cruz, Calif., were pronounced dead at 1:40 a.m. by county Deputy Coroner Linda Kessler.
Finnegan and Richards were members of Alpha Phi Delta fraternity, according to the e-mail.
Another passenger, Stanislav Gomberg, 21, of upstate Ossining was flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa., where he was listed in serious condition Sunday.
