Father's Day was a scorcher. And it seems like there's plenty more hot weather, as well as some thunderstorms, in the Long Island forecast.

The National Weather Service said thunderstorms this evening throughout the area are expected to bring winds up to 40 mph

Tonight won't bring much relief from the heat and humidity, with a 40 percent chance of rain and lows staying near 70.

The start of the work week is expected to be clear and less humid, but still warm. More storms are in the forecast come Wednesday.
