Nassau police were searching Sunday for suspects in two separate robberies that occurred in Uniondale.

In the first of the Saturday robberies, two teen victims, aged 15 and 17, were leaving Smith Street Park about 6 p.m. when two men followed them into a parking lot. The men, one of whom had a knife, police said, demanded the victims empty their pockets.

The men took two cellphones and fled east on Smith Street. The victims were not injured.

One suspect was described as a man 18 to 20 years old, 5-foot-5, of average build, with a teardrop tattoo on his face. He was wearing a blue jacket with white stripes and jeans. The other man, who was carrying the knife, police said, was described as a muscular man about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a light brown jacket and jeans.

The second robbery occurred at a 7-Eleven store on Front Street several hours later, police said.

In that robbery, two men, both armed with black handguns, entered the store at 9:40 p.m. One of the men held his gun on a male customer who was ordered to lie on the floor, while the other pointed his gun at the cashier and demanded the store's cash be placed in a plastic bag.

When the cashier opened the register, the suspect grabbed the cash tray. Both men fled north on Arcadia Avenue. No one was injured in the robbery.

The 7-Eleven robbery suspects are described as about 25 years old. One wore a blue hooded sweatshirt with dark pants and sneakers, and the other wore jeans, a dark jacket with a striped shirt hanging out beneath it, a white baseball cap with red lettering, black sneakers, and carried a white plastic bag.

Police ask anyone with information on either robbery to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
