It's going to feel a bit more like summer today on Long Island and in New York City -- but sadly, it won't be sticking around.

The mercury is forecast to hit 84 today on Long Island with gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service. NYC is predicted to hit 87.

A Red Flag warning is also in effect on LI, as the warm, dry and windy weather are ideal conditions for brush fires.

Savor the warm while it lasts, as tomorrow temps will drop back into the low 70s with a chance of thunderstorms late in the day.

Rain is expected Friday, with sunshine and seasonal tempatures in the 50s on tap for Saturday.
