Terry Pearsall, a former chief of staff of the Suffolk County Legislature who retired nearly two years ago, is being recommended for a county board.

Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory (D-Amityville) has put in a resolution to name Pearsall as a trustee of the board that oversees Suffolk’s Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium, located on 43 acres in Centerport.

If confirmed by the legislature. Pearsall, 75, will complete the unexpired term of Rodney Rodriguez which runs to Dec. 28 2019. The position is unpaid.

Pearsall is a 40-year veteran of the legislature who served as top aide and key adviser to the last three Democratic presiding officers.

Before his retirement, Pearsall led a legislative task force when the Vanderbilt was facing financial difficulties.
