A Bay Shore home health aide was arrested Wednesday after Nassau police said she stole personal checks from Seaford clients.

For about a week in late August, Tiffany Douglas, 28, stole personal checks belonging to the homeowners of a Seaford residence where she had been assigned by her employer, Help At Home, police said. She wrote checks totaling $1,345 out to cash and deposited them into her personal account, police said.

Police said they arrested Douglas at her home at 221 Montana Ave. She is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and second-degree identity theft. She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to First District Court in Hempstead on Oct. 8.
