Amtrak restores train service between Penn Station and New Haven after broken-rail disruption

Amtrak has restored train service between Penn Station and New Haven, Connecticut, after fixing a broken rail in the Bronx, officials said.
Around 2 p.m., Amtrak announced it had "made the necessary repairs to the tracks" and that normal operations would resume.
"We appreciate your patience as we worked through this unexpected issue," Amtrak said in a statement.
Around 10:30 a.m., Amtrak announced the “unscheduled track repair," which a spokesman attributed to a broken rail in the Bronx.
“Amtrak is communicating directly with impacted customers about this service interruption and offering options for rebooking their travel plans,” Amtrak said.
