LIRR: Babylon branch on or close after switch issue
The Long Island Rail Road said it was operating on or close to schedule late into Monday’s morning rush hour after delays and cancellations earlier because of switch trouble in Wantagh.
The commuter rail service made the announcement in an email alert shortly after 9 a.m.
Starting at about 6:30 a.m. there were delays on the branch because of the switch issue, first averaging about 20 minutes and then reduced to 10 minutes.
Spokesman Salvatore Arena said at about 7 a.m. the switch issue had been repaired but that commuters could expect residual delays.
