Normal traffic operations will resume at the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel on Monday, state officials announced Friday.

Normal operations at the former Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel means that three lanes traveling into Manhattan during the morning commuter peak, 6 a.m. till 10 a.m., will be open.

This is the first time that traffic will flow both ways in the tunnel since superstorm Sandy hit on Oct. 29, flooding the tunnel with millions of gallons of water. It reopened to cars and buses during peak drive times on Nov. 12.
