DOT: Hurricane Jose prompts Meadowbrook road work change

State officials said Hurricane Jose has prompted them to reschedule work on the Meadowbrook State Parkway drawbridge over Sloop Channel in the Town of Hempstead.

The work, originally scheduled to begin Tuesday, will instead begin Thursday, the State Department of Transportation said.

The bridge renovation work will result in one travel lane in both directions, DOT said.
