DOT: Southern State Parkway lanes reopen after vehicle fire
The eastbound Southern State Parkway was briefly closed Thursday between Exit 25, Newbridge Road, and Exit 27, the Wantagh State Parkway.
State Police said the closure was caused by a vehicle fire.
All lanes were blocked because of the vehicle fire at about 1 p.m., but within an hour they had reopened, according to the state Department of Transportation website.
